Not far from here lies Åsnen National Park — a vast lake landscape of islands, skerries, and dense forest, home to rich birdlife including ospreys and otters. The area is a popular fishing destination, with plenty of pike, perch, and zander in the water. Bring the canoe or boat from Skärvudde and head out on your own.
Good to know before you fish
Fishing in Åsnen requires a permit — it isn't free-for-all. Day permits start at 100 SEK, weekly permits are 350 SEK, and children up to 15 fish for free. Maximum two pike-perch or pike per permit per day, and pike-perch fishing is closed throughout May.
